Showing boolean values in lowercase when displayed

By default, Boolean values are presented in Title case (due to Javascript formatting) when they’re rendered in the browser by Arcadia:

However you might see that the values are actually presented in lowercase by default if you select your data through arcadia-shell or hive:

To override the default Javascript formatting at the Visual level, you can use the “Custom Javascript” option when you click “Display Format” on your boolean field. Custom Javascript formatting allows you to intercept an incoming value and change or modify it before it gets rendered in your visual. In our case, we’re going to take the incoming value and transform it to a lowercase string, and then return that new lowercase value into the Visual.

After making the change, you should see your boolean column now showing values in lowercase within your Visual:
